Email - How it works
MyOffice email works by storing your sent and
received emails on the MyOffice web server
in addition to storing them on your local PC.
If you use a product like Outlook then all your
emails are stored locally on your PC. This can be a
bit restrictive when you want to work on your emails
from another PC. You can set up
Outlook on both PCs but any emails you send from one
PC will not be visible on the other PC. So if you
answer some emails from home you won't be able to
see those 'sent' emails when you return to your work
PC because they are stored on your home PC.
With MyOffice, all emails are stored centrally
on the MyOffice Web Server allowing access
from anywhere in the world.
This is in addition to any copies you may leave
stored with your Email Provider.
You can use the installed Windows version of
MyOffice, the Pocket PC version or the Web Browser version to access
your emails. The Pocket PC version is particularly
useful when you are travelling. You can send and receive emails via
GPRS or Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can use the Web Browser version to
log on from Internet Cafes, Hotels, etc.
So, no matter where you are in the world, you have
access to all your emails and the view of your
emails remains the same no matter where you log on
from.
Try it
You can try MyOffice email without affecting
your existing email system.
In other words, you can receive emails to both your
existing email system (e.g. Outlook) and
MyOffice. The same 'received' emails will be
displayed in both systems. This is a useful way of
trying MyOffice using live emails and it
doesn't affect your existing email set up.
To do this, just configure the email account in
MyOffice to 'leave a copy of mails on server'. Then
receive your emails in MyOffice first before using
your normal email system.
Of course, any emails 'sent' from one system cannot
be displayed in the other system.
