In order to connect to the MyOffice
server, you will need to be connected to the
Internet.
You can either connect to the Internet
before you run MyOffice, or you can wait
until MyOffice asks if you want to dial a
connection. If you're having difficulty
connecting, it is better to connect to the
Internet before you run MyOffice as this
makes it easier to work out what's going wrong.
If you're still having difficulty connecting
to MyOffice (you're connected to the
Internet, run MyOffice, and MyOffice
has come back saying it's unable to connect to
the server), here are a few things to try.
(1) Are you actually connected to the
net?
If MyOffice is reporting that it can't
connect to the server, it's worth checking that
your Internet connection is working. The easiest
way to check this is to visit any web page. For
example, if you can see the current BBC homepage
(www.bbc.co.uk), then the chances are that
you're connected to the Internet. Subsequent
attempts to connect to MyOffice should
therefore work (unless something else is wrong).
(2) Firewalls and Port Blockers
MyOffice needs to make two connections to
the internet. Any firewalls / port blockers
/ other security software should be
configured to allow the following
connections:
https://www.myoffice.net/logonservice/logonwebservice.asmx
This is an OUTGOING connection to www.myoffice.net on port 443.
The IP of this server is 213.131.168.168
https://www.myappointments.net/webservices/myappointmentswebservice.asmx
This is an OUTGOING connection to www.myappointments.net on port 443.
The IP of this server is 213.131.168.172
Both of these services are also available on port 80 on their respective servers.
